Reporting in from the literal garbage fire that is Portland, currently home to the worst air quality in the world. And I've been to Shanghai and Beijing *cough cough*.

I've been trapped inside at home all week with headache, mental fog, nausea and bloody boogers that just don't stop. It sucks, but I'm fortunate that past-me washed the car last weekend and took a fun wine-tasting trip to my favorite spots in the Willamette Valley before the wildfires. I have an air purifier with a fresh filter running 24/7 and central air in my condo. I have miso, yogurt, juice, tea and wine to get me through the next few days.

Huge shout-out to my neighborhood convenience store people during these hardest of times. From what I've observed over the years, the store is run by a Korean-American family who listens to Christian radio. In this gritty neighborhood, they risk their lives every day to provide beer, snacks and cigarettes to a regular rotation of diverse customers. It's all business, but they greet every person who comes in the door with a friendly hello. I appreciate them so much, and when I can risk going outside, the convenience store is the first place I plan to visit.
